Composting Steps | Langkan-langkah membuat kompos | 堆肥步骤

A layer of soil and/or old compost will be placed. Follow by a layer or kitchen waste (Green layer), Cover with a layer of dry leaves, dry grass or saw dust (Brown layer). The layer of “Greens” and “Browns” should be in equal proportion.

Lapisan pertama letakan tanah atau kompos lama. Kemudian selapis sisa makanan (Bahan Hijau) ditambahkan ke atas ini.  Lapisan ini ditutup dengan satu lapisan daun atau rumpur kering atau harbok kayu (bahan Kering).  Lapisan “Bahan Hijau” dan “Bahan Kering” hendaklah sama tebal.

先放一层土壤或旧的堆肥, 倒入厨余 (绿肥), 再加干草或干叶子(棕肥), “棕肥” 和 “绿肥” 的比例及厚度必须相同, 持续直到九分满为止.

Keep moisture. The temperature can expected to rise over 65 C. This process is done until the bin is almost full. The compost pile can be turned into the next compartment after the temperature drops to 28 C – 30 C.The compost can be collected in 12-16 weeks time depending on the volume and its composition. Leave for another 1 week for the compost to cool before use.

Siram air untuk menjaga kelembapan. Proses ini diulangi sehingga ruang itu hampir penuh. Suhu akan meningkat sehingga lebih 65C.  Himpunan kompos ini akan dirombakan ke dalam ruang lain selepas suhu termometer turun kepada 28 C – 30 C. Kompos boleh dipungut dalam 12-16 minggu tertakluk kepada isipadu dan komposisi kompos. Tinggalkan seminggu lagi untuk menyejukkan kompos ini sebelum digunakan.

浇水以保持潮湿. 温度可上升至攝氏65度.  当温度下降至28 – 30, 可把堆肥搬入其他的间隔. 12-16个星期后可以收成, 將它放置一个星期让它冷却.

The ready compost should be friable and cool, have a dark colour and an earthly smell.

Kompos yang masak akan berkecai, sejuk dan berwarna gelap dan berbau tanah.

完全降解的堆肥將会变的松软, 湿冷, 帶深褐色並且有泥土的味道.

Note : To enhance the composting process, a layer of indigenous microorganisms (IMOs) can be placed after the first layer of "Greens" and "Browns".  An additional layer can be placed as the final layer on top of the compost heap.

Nota :  Untuk mempercepatkan proses pereputan kompos, selapis mikroorganisma setempat (IMOs) boleh diletakkan selepas lapisan pertama "Bahan Hijau" dan "Bahan Kering". Lapis tambahan juga boleh diletakkan sebagai lapisan terakhir himpunan kompos.
